Netanyahu opts to dissolve Knesset for new election

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu announced Tuesday night plans to dissolve parliament and call a snap election in the hope of expanded support for his Likud. Earlier, he sacked Finance Minister Yair Lapid, head of Likud’s leading coalition partner Future, and Justice Minister Tzipi Livni, head of a small faction.
