Netanyahu signs second ultra-religious party to his government
With time running out to the Wednesday deadline for completing his lineup, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu signed a deal with the ultra-Orthodox party Shas to join his government, hours after Avigdor Lieberman and his Yisraeli Beitenu bolted from the coalition negotiations and headed for the opposition. Shas won the ministries of economy, religious affairs, and Golan and Negev development. Still remaining to be drawn in for a scant 61-seat Knesset majority is the Jewish Home party headed by Naftali Bennett.
