Netanyahu stresses Golan’s importance
The Golan is of vital importance to Israel’s security, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said Sunday at a joint news conference with visiting US national security adviser John Bolton. “When you are there, you will see for yourself why Israel will never leave the Golan,” he said. Israel gained the Golan enclave from Syria during the 1967 war. In 1981, the Begin government extended Israeli law to the territory amounting to its annexation.
