Netanyahu to air an “important announcement” Thursday night

PM Binyamin Netanyahu has timed his important announcement for 8 pm, half an hour after a news conference called by defense minister Yoav Galant to call for thee suspension of the government’s judicial reform legislation. Speculation is rife over subject of the prime minister’s broadcast and whether or not it is in sync with Galant’s move. There are also signs that Galant has won support from some leading members of the ruling Likud. During the day the IDF chief of staff Herzi Halevi conducted a “tough” conversation with Netanyahu, while tens of thousands of anti-reform protesters dislocated traffic and utilities across the country.
