Netanyahu to Biden: “Every effort made to avoid harming innocents”

PM Binyamin Netanyahu updated President Joe Biden on Israel’s operation in the Gaza Strip and its next plans and thanked him for his “unwavering support” for Israel’s right to defend itself. He stated that the operation would continue as long as needed. The security cabinet met on Sunday to approve its extension.
The president’s call followed an Israeli air strike on a Gaza City building housing foreign news media AP and Al Jazeera on Saturday, about which he voiced concern, although it was evacuated in advance. The target was Hamas military intelligence HQ, located there on the assumption that the presence of foreign media promised immunity from attack. Netanyahu assured the president that every effort was being made to avoid harming innocents. He later reported that 25 foreign countries had voiced support for the Israeli operation against the terrorists in the Gaza Strip
