Netanyahu to meet Colombian president in Bogota Wednesday

Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu will fly to Colombia on Wednesday after wrapping up a two-day trip to Argentina. During the three-hour stopover in Bogota he will meet with Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos. The two leaders are expected to discuss a range of issues including ties in the security sphere. 
Netanyahu, who is making the first trip by an Israeli prime minister to Latin America, said Tuesday after meeting Argentine President Mauricio Macri that "a new era has begun" in bilateral relations. He also praised Macri for his efforts to investigate two high-profile terrorist attacks in the country, the 1992 bombing of the Israeli embassy in Buenos Aires and the 1994 bombing of a Jewish community center in the city. The Israeli leader met later Tuesday with Paraguayan President Horacio Cartes.
Netanyahu is to fly to Mexico Wednesday night for a one-day trip before heading to New York to attend the UN General Assembly and meet a number of foreign leaders including US President Donald Trump.
