Netanyahu trades views with world leaders on coronavirus fallout

A third video conference on the coronavirus crisis and how to reopen the economy, especially airline flights and tourism, took place on Thursday between Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and world leaders. Hosted by Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz, the participants included Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis, Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg and New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ahern.  They were all worried that their citizens had become complacent and neglected wearing masks and testing.

Netanyahu said that Israel is focusing on enforcing adherence to health regulations and local lockdowns , using such means as digital monitors for tracking infected patients’ contacts. All the participants were anxious about a possible second wave of the pandemic and discussed how to prevent it.
