Netanyahu trial postponed to May 24

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s corruption trial due to open on Tuesday was delayed for two months, until May 24, due to the coronavirus crisis. Israel’s Justice Ministry Amir Ohana said on Sunday that in keeping with the new rules under the state of national emergency, court hearings would be restricted to urgent cases, such as arrests and bail, administration detention and urgent Supreme Court petitions. This was decided in coordination with the courts administration and the Attorney General.
