Netanyahu’s 6th government confirmed by 63 to 54 votes
Amid raucous heckling, PM Binyamin Netanyahu presented his coalitions government of 31 new ministers and 5 deputy ministers to the Knesset on Thursday. Thousands protested outside over the far-right nature of the new coalition. The PM outlined its three goals as frustrating Iran’s nuclear program, developing national infrastructure while imbuing the country with internal security and extending the peace initiative with more Arab countries. Amir Ohana, an avowed LGBTQ, was confirmed as Knesset Speaker. Likud’s Yisrael Katz and Eli Cohen will take turns as foreign minister. Ron Dermer, who had hoped for the post, was allotted Strategic Affairs.
