Netanyahu’s counsel bid to delay alleged corruption publication until after election
An expanded battery of two ex-judges and 3 attorneys representing prime minister Binyamin Netanyahu was received by Attorney General Avichai Mandelblitt at his office in Jerusalem on Monday. They came to persuade him to hold off publication of the findings in the corruption allegations against Netanyahu until after the April 9 general election, to avoid undue influence on its outcome.
In a decision that could have a far-reaching impact on the future of Israeli politics, Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit said Friday he has rejected a request from Benjamin Netanyahu to delay an announcement regarding the possible indictment of the prime minister on corruption charges until after election day.
