Netanyahu’s four-point plan to combat coronavirus. 22 infected

Recruiting teens to disinfect public facilities and transport is the first point of PM Binyamin Netanyahu’s plan to combat coronavirus which has infected 22 Israelis. All confirmed cases are adults, he said, and so youngsters may be safely enlisted. Soldiers should also sanitize military installations. The air force will stand ready to import essential items in case of shortages. The PM proposed opening credit lines for business hit hard by the covid-19 crisis, especially those catering to tourists. Finally, a brains trust would be taxed with a sustained effort to find a remedy or vaccine for the disease gaining epidemic proportions.

While most European airlines have suspended service to Israel due to the death of incoming and outgoing passengers, the health ministry is considering adding three US states to the list of destinations barred to Israeli travelers: California, Washington and New York. The US has registered to date 377 cases and 21 deaths.
The town of Bethlehem is quarantined after 19 Palestinians tested positive for coronavirus, all of whom were in contact with a group of Greek pilgrims who contracted the disease. The West Bank and Gaza Strip are in lockdown from Saturday night until Wednesday.
