New Air Force chief in reshuffle of top IDF command

OC Northern Command Maj. Gen. Aviv Kochavi is elevated to Deputy Chief of Staff in place of Maj. Gen. Yair Golan, according to a list of new appointments released Wednesday by Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman. Kochavi, a former Military Intelligence chief, will hand the northern command over to Home Command head, Maj. Gen. Yoel Strick  who will pass the Home Command to Brig. Gen. Tamir Yedai, head of the Judea and Samaria Division.
Maj. Gen. Amir Eshel leaves the post of Air Force Chief in favor of the IDF’s Planning Division head Maj. Gen. Amiram Nurkin, a former leader of fighter squadrons and commander of the Tel Nof Air Base. Brig.-Gen Amir Abulafia takes over the Planning Division
