New Iraqi Kurdish militia goes after revenge for Peshmerga defeat

The “White Flags” is a new Iraqi Kurdish militia which has begun striking Iraqi government and military targets in the eastern Iraq province of Tuz Khumatu and Saladin province in the north. Both were ruled by the Kurdish regional government up until October, when the Iraqi army and pro-Iranian Shiite militias defeated the Peshmerga army and captured them. The White Flags militia is circulating leaflets in the two provinces with the message: “We are a group that was formed to seek vengeance for the Kurds. We will not allow the security forces to be present in your district.”
