New US Ambassador to Israel hands credentials to President Rivlin

“It is the biggest honor of my life,” said US Ambassador David Friedman when he handed his credentials to President Reuven Rivlin in Jerusalem Tuesday, and pledged to do everything in his power to strengthen the unshakable bond between the US and Israel. "I thank President Trump for appointing me to the job and giving me a clear mandate to aid Israel in any way possible," said the ambassador who characterized Trump's support of Israel as "rock solid." President Rivlin replied: “Welcome to united Jerusalem, the capital of the Jewish people for 3,000 years.”  He noted that next week Israel celebrates the 50th anniversary of the reunification of Jerusalem and the return of the Jewish people to pray at the Western Wall.

"I look forwards to working with you in the fields of education, science, hi-tech and trade, as well as in the military field where we will carry on our strategic partnership," said Friedman.
