New US sanctions on Iran. Pompeo warns Lebanon to curb Hizballah
The US Treasure Friday imposed sanctions on 31 Iranian scientists, technicians and companies involved in the country’s nuclear and missile research and development programs. Anyone doing business with them is subject to US penalties. This was announced as US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo warned Lebanese officials after arriving in Beirut to curb the influence of the Iran-backed Hizballah. This is a terrorist organization, he said, and should not be allowed to set policies or wield power.
This is a very good idea, but why not consider repatriation of all Hezbollah to Syria, where from the came?
In case Hezbollah shows delays in liberating this occupied country not theirs, a short 2-3 weeks bombardments on all Hezbollah installations, bases, and troops shall facilitate a speedy resolution for a happy ending of the Syrian occupation of Lebanon.
Once back in Syria, with their excellent knowledge of digging tunnels, Damascus might get a good modern large metro system for almost free.
Dear Aladdin,
Great comment! Especially the last paragraph! You made my day! (And yes, I noticed how you skillfully didn’t end the sentence in the first paragraph with a preposition! Well done!)
@Adam This is not an English language site. Why the besserwisser comments?
Well Mark you might not think so but the most common language is English, so why use a German word, which translated uses my first name?
Dear Mark T,
I was actually seriously and sincerely complimenting Aladdin. My words were not at all meant to be negative towards him. I really enjoyed his post. And I was impressed by his fluency in the English language. I’m sorry if I somehow offended you or anyone else. My parents and grandparents are Gieses and Lippmans and Fredericks and Imses. So why call me a “besserwisser”? Why must you be so negative? Chill instead. And have a good – great – day!
And Aleck – thank you! You are very nice, considerate, and intelligent (not a ….. aleck)
Sincerely,
Adam
