New York bomber charged with terror offenses
Akayed Ullah, a 27-year old Bangladeshi immigrant, was charged with terror offences Tuesday for exploding a bomb at the Port Authority Bus Terminal near Times Square on Monday and injuring three people. Police say Ullah is still in a serious condition in hospital after suffering burns when a crude device that was strapped to his body exploded. He told police investigators he had been inspired by Christmas terror attacks in Europe and his attack had been motivated by US air strikes on ISIS targets in Syria and elsewhere.
