Next Gaza war stage in Israel cabinet, Palestinian talks in Cairo

The Israeli cabinet is due to meet Wednesday, Day 23 of counter-terror operation in Gaza, to determine the next stage: expansion or a halt. A Palestinian delegation is expected in Washington to discuss a possible ceasefire with Egyptian mediators. Hamas military commander Mohammad Deif said his faction would not consider a ceasefire only the “halt of Israeli aggression” and “end of Gaza siege.”
Hamas resumed rocket fire early Wednesday after a night of heavy Israeli air force and navy bombardments over Gaza.
