Nine Muslim attackers, two police killed in clash in Chinese province

Chinese state media report that nine axe-wielding assailants were shot dead during in attack on a police station in China’s restive Xinjiang province and two police officers killed. China usually blames such attacks on Uighur members of the East Turkestan Islamic movement, like the suicide attack last month when a car ploughed into a crowd in Beijing’s Tiananmen Sq. killing five people.
