No immediate US plans to seize Iranian tanker

US Defense Secretary Mike Esper said on Thursday that the US has no plans for now to seize the Iranian tanker cruising opposite Syria with 2 million tons of oil aboard. The vessel was released last week by Gibraltar after UK marines impounded it on its way to Syria to deliver oil in violation of EU sanctions. The tanker meanwhile eludes monitors.

I think that by now probably half the oil has been transferred and the tanks filled with seawate,r to make it look like it’s just sitting there.

“The tanker is eluding monitors” Great, let’s see if the tanker is equally adept at eluding torpedoes.
