No Russian OK for Turkish military operation in Syria

A high-level Turkish delegation in Moscow Saturday failed to obtain Russian agreement to Turkish military steps in Syria. Ankara found its invasion plans blocked when Syrian and Russian forces reach the gates of Manbij on Friday in response to a Kurdish appeal. The Turkish-Russian talks in Moscow ended with a statement by Turkish FM Mevlut Cavusoglu that agreement had been reached on coordination between Moscow, Ankara, Tehran to continue for safeguarding Syrian territorial integrity. However, Russian FM Sergei Lavrov was only ready to say: “Following the agreements, which were reached by our presidents, we discussed further steps to implement those tasks, which were outlined in the Astana format, primarily in the context of fighting terrorism, resolving humanitarian issues and creating conditions for refugees’ return,”

Turkey turned against the U.S. (de facto out of NATO) to join the Russia-Syria-Iran-Hizballa axis of evil. Now they are finding that the Shia and their hired guns from Russia can never really accept them. So, now Turkey is literally a “3rd world country”. The original meaning of this terms was: not aligned with U.S. nor with the Soviets, thus “3rd”, such as India. Later the term was turned into a different meaning: “undeveloped”, or “backward”, because the countries that were not aligned with West or East were mostly undeveloped.

Any one sees any issue with this unusual understanding: Turkey’s policy in Syria is opposed by Russia, US, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Israel ! Has Turkey lost its compass??
