North Korea threatens “all-out war” for any US military action
Kim In Ryong, North Korea’s deputy United Nations ambassador, said Monday the US has created “a dangerous situation in which a thermonuclear war may break out at any minute.” “[North Korea] is ready to react to any mode of war desired by the US,” he said. Vice Foreign Minister Han Song-ryol told the BBC that more missile tests would take place “on a weekly, monthly and yearly basis.” An “all-out war” would result if the US took military action.
US State Department Acting Assistant Secretary Susan Thornton warned Monday that there would be a "significant international response" if North Korea were to mount another nuclear test. She said the US would not "stand idly by" while North Korea "develops and hones" nuclear weapons. Vice President Mike Pence on Sunday vowed that “the era of strategic patience is over” between the US and North Korea.
