Notorious Mullah Fazlullah elected head of Pakistani Taliban
Islamabad fears the election of Mullah Fazlullah, infamous for his atrocities in the Swat province, as new Pakistani Taliban leader, foredooms the government’s push for peace dialogue with the Islamist movement. Fazlullah is remembered for violently banning girls’ education, ransacking music shops, conducting public executions and enforcing Islamic law in its most brutal form.
