NYT: Iran’s Parchin nuclear site was hit by suicide drones

Quadcopter suicide drones launched from inside Iran this week attacked the key Parchin military and nuclear complex, according to anonymous Iranian and US sources cited by the New York Times.  The attack in which an engineer was killed was officially described by Iran’s defense ministry as an “incident.” The statement said one of the ministry’s research units in the Parchin area was hit and the engineer was a “martyr.”

Iran is known to develop missile, nuclear and drone technology at Parchin. IAEA inspectors are routinely denied access to the site which lies about 50km southeast of Tehran.
