Obama orders probe of Russian cyberattacks on US election systems
Seemingly fighting for a lost cause in the aftermath of his party’s defeat in the presidential election, US President Barack Obama on Friday ordered federal security services to investigate the Russian cyberattacks that are suspected of affecting the election’s result. Meanwhile, on the same day, the Washington Post published a front-page article saying the CIA recently briefed a handful of senators on its latest assessment that the Russians helped Donald Trump win. The newspaper did not reveal the details of the closed-door briefing, including the identity of the senators or the evidence reportedly tied to Moscow. The CIA said it had no comment on the article.
