Obama will veto law that blocks aircraft sales to Iran
President Barack Obama promises to veto US legislation seeking to block financial transactions related to the export by Airbus and Boeing of 200 passenger aircraft to Iran. The White House said US partners in the nuclear agreement signed with Iran last year would view the bill, if implemented, as a violation of that agreement. Lawmakers backing the bill maintain that the passenger jets could be converted to military aircraft for modernizing Iran’s aging air fleet and used against US and NATO forces in the Middle East.
