Obama’s Shana Tova to American-Jewish community
“Jewish tradition teaches us that, for the next ten days, the Book of Life is open,” US President Barack Obama said in a recorded message to the Jewish community on the eve of the New Festival starting Sunday evening. “Yet during these Days of Awe we also recognize our tremendous power to make a difference, in our lives and in our world,” he said, and hinted at a renewed effort to restart Israeli-Palestinian peace talks in the last year of his presidency.
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has been invited to visit the White House in November. A date is still pending.
