Ohio State attacker was punishing “infidels”
The 18-year old Somali student Abdul Razak Ali Artan left a Facebook post shortly before he drove a car Monday into a crowd of people at Ohio State University, then got out and stabbed several more before he was shot and killed by campus police. Nine victims were hospitalized. In the post, he said that assaults on Muslims around the world “led to a boiling point, I can’t take it anymore.” It ended by saying: "By Allah, I am willing to kill a billion infidels in retribution for a single DISABLED Muslim/Musliman."
Arlan lived in Pakistan after leaving Somalia in 2007, arriving in the US in 2014, where he was granted permanent residency status. Surveillance photos showed the Somali student in a car on his own before the attack, but investigators are looking into whether anyone else was involved in what is now deemed a terrorist attack.
