Olmert again protests his innocence after High Court verdict
Former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert continued to affirm his innocence after the High Court partly upheld his conviction for corruption on appeal and commuted his prison sentence from six years to eight months, starting Feb. 15 at Maasiyahu Prison.
“I said in the past that I was never offered nor did I ever accept bribes – and I say this again today,” Olmert told the media after the hearing. He added that he would respect the court’s verdict.
