Olmert appeal rejected, will serve the last 8 months
The High Court in Jerusalem Tuesday rejected the appeals filed by the State and former prime minister Ehud Olmert against the jail sentences handed down against him on charges of graft. The State appealed the leniency of the prison terms to which he was sentenced in the Rishon Tours and Investment Centers cases, while Olmert requested a ruling to make the sentences handed down against him in the Holyland bribery and Talansky cash enveloopes affairs concurrent. This ruling would have shortened his time in prison by eight months. The rejection of his appeal means that he will have to serve the full 19 months in jail at the Maasiyahu Prison.
