Over 30 injured from Haifa blaze; multiple neighborhoods evacuated
At least 30 people have been injured from the huge fire in Haifa. The blaze has spread to more areas of the city, with thick smoke covering the neighborhoods of Ramot Sapir, Romema, Ramat Hen, Ramat Eshkol, Ahuza, Ramat Golda and Ben Gurion, which were being evacuated. Evacuations have already been carried out at kindergartens, schools and the Technion. Haifa City Hall set up two evacuation centers, including one at the old municipal stadium, and the IDF's Home Front Command has called up 300 reservists. Meanwhile, Turkey, Russia and Croatia announced that they were sending planes to provide assistance. See DEBKAfile's special report for more details on the arson that is only targeting Israel's Jewish cities and towns.
