Over 65 million people are refugees, internally displaced or migrants: UN

More than 65 million people around the world were forced from their homes last year, an increase from 59.5 million in 2014, according to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees. The UNHCR also said in its annual Global Trends report, released Monday, that about 21.3 million are refugees from ongoing conflicts in Syria, Afghanistan, South Sudan and other countries. Children account for half of them.  In addition, the report said 24 people were displaced every minute in 2015. About 2.5 million Syrian refugees are in Turkey and over one million are in Lebanon, according to the UNHCR.
