Pakistan arrests 3 suspects in shooting of young girl who criticized Taliban
Malala Yousafzai, 14, was shot and critically injured by three gunmen on her way home from school for leading a campaign promoting education for girls and criticizing the Taliban for repressing women.
The incident has outraged people across Pakistan which called for a day of prayer for her recovery in the Armed Forces Institute of Cardology’s criical care unit in Rawalpindi to which she was moved from Peshawar. Doctors say Malala’s condition is satisfactory but the next 24-36 hours are critical for her survival.
