Pakistani charged with espionage for Iran goes on trial in Berlin

A Pakistani residing in Germany who is charged with collecting intelligence on Israeli and Jewish targets for Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) went on trial in Berlin on Wednesday. Haider Syed Mustafa is said to have conducted surveillance of a French-Israeli professor and a pro-Israel German politician, among other targets, and passed on the information to the IRGC's elite Qods Force in exchange for payment. The prosecutor said Mustafa is also believed to have travelled to Iran to meet an IRGC contact during trips to Pakistan in 2015 and 2016. Mustafa, who came to Germany in 2012, had worked at the German Aerospace Center in the city of Bremen.
