Palestinian leader Abbas hospitalized for third time in a week

On Sunday the Palestinian Authority Chairman, Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen), 83, was admitted to the cardiology department of the Ramallah Istishari Hospital, after surgery on an ear infection Tuesday, followed by a temperature Saturday. The official Palestinian news agency and the hospital are making light of Abu Mazen’s medical condition, saying the results of medical tests were “good” and that his condition was “reassuring.”
