Palestinian riots on Temple Mt, at Old City gates, Sheikh Jarrah

More than 200 Palestinians and 17 police officers were injured in violent riots in Jerusalem  on Friday night. Police finally used stun grenades to restore order on Temple Mount and disperse thousands of Muslim worshippers who, as they came out of Al Aqsa mosque, hurled rocks, stones and bottle bombs at the officers on duty there. This was the last Friday of the Muslim Ramadan festival and tension was high in the city. The disorders spread to the Old City gates, including Damascus Gate, and Sheikh Jarrach where police again used stun grenades to break up the clashes going on for more than a week between Palestinians and Jews. Police are on high alert against further outbreaks of mob violence in the capital
