Palestinian rocket fire draws Israeli air strikes against Hamas

Israeli air strikes Monday afternoon targeted Hamas in the Gaza Strip hours after a rocket exploded on open ground in the Shear Hanegev region. Hamas positions outside the Nuseirat refugee camp and southern Gaza were hit, reportedly injuring four activists. The Palestinian group issued a statement threatening to retaliate for the IDF operations “blowing up the situation” – whatever the cost.
