Palestinian soccer head banned for incitement to violence

The International Football Association, FIFA, has banned the Palestinian football chief Jibril Rajoub from attending soccer matches for one year, as a penalty for inciting hatred and violence to deter Argentina’s national team from playing in Israel. Rajib had issued a call to “target the Argentinian Football Association and burn jerseys and pictures of [its star] Lionel Messi.”  Rajoub was also banned from “engaging with the media at or near stadiums on matchdays” for a year and fined 20,000 Swiss francs.
