Palestinian stabbing attack stopped by Jerusalem mayor
After several weeks without terrorist incidents in Jerusalem, an 18-year old Palestinian from the Ramallah region Sunday stabbed a passerby in the stomach on a street between the Safra Square municipal compound and the Old City wall. As he prepared to continue his stabbing attacks, Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat, who was passing in his car, jumped out with his bodyguard and tackled the terrorist, forcing him to drop the knife. The bodyguard stood over him until police arrived to take him into custody.
