Palestinians clash with settlers on another day of anti-Israel riots

A military spokeswoman says about 150 Palestinians and 25 Jewish settlers hurled rocks at each other Saturday, and Israeli forces tried to disperse them. The clashes come amid rising protests against Israel on the West Bank and support for four Palestinian prisoners on hunger strike. Tension is also rising in anticipation of President Barack Obama’s visit to Jerusalem next month, although he has not announced plans to revive peace talks. On Temple Mount, Muslim worshippers threw stones and firecrackers at police after Friday prayers. Witnesses said officers quickly dispersed the rioters with tear gas and percussion grenades.
