Palestinians refuse to show Israel the bullet extracted from dead journalist

The Palestinian Authority’s refusal to show Israel the bullet extracted from the body of the slain Al Jazeera journalist Shirin Abu Aqleh, or hand over first results of the autopsy,  raise suspicions as to the cause of her death, said security sources on Thursday. The PA’s rejection of Israel’s offer of a joint investigation of her death likewise indicates it has something to hide. IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Aviv Kochavi earlier announced a special investigation into the incident. On the strength of Palestinian data, he said, it is impossible to say for sure whether Israeli troops or armed Palestinian gunfire were responsible for the deadly attack on the reporter in Jenin.

Washington is pressing for a joint investigation by Israel and the PA as soon as possible. Israel has accepted this, but the Palestinians are holding back a reply.
