Pardo: Iranian hacking of Gantz phone leak should be probed
Former Mossad chief Tamir Pardo said Monday that the hacking of the Blue-White leader Benny Gantz’s smartphone by Iran raises questions that should concern every citizen as a serious threat to democracy. He said any intelligence leader in Israel and around the world would resort to all measures available to keep this event from being published. In Pardo’s view, the fact that it was leaked calls for a thorough investigation after the election. He condemned the use of intelligence data for political ends.
What’s dangerous isn’t the fact it leaked. What’s dangerous is the fact it happened.
