Paris police hunt two men who fired at local synagogue

Police said a bullet, apparently from an automatic weapon, hit the window of the David Ben Ichay Synagogue in Paris’ 19th Arrondissement Monday night. It was aimed at the lighted window of the synagogue’s office but Rabbi Lousky and an assistant, who were present, were not hurt. Two suspects are sought.
French President Francois Hollande confirmed Tuesday that one of the 11 victims of the Nantes van attack on Christmas shoppers has died of his injuries. In the French Riviera resort town of Cannes, a heavily armed man was arrested on the street. He was described as carrying two fully loaded pump-action shotguns, wearing an ammunition belt, and a large knife. The French government Tuesday deployed 300 armed soldiers around the country.
