Paris policewoman critically hurt in knife attack

The attacker was shot dead by police officers after he slashed the throat of a French female police officer in the Paris Vincennes district Friday. Eyewitnesses reported that he first attacked a nurse walking in the street and when the police arrived started shooting. Before he was killed in an exchange of fire with the police, he attacked the policewoman. France is on high terror emergency alert since the onset of a wave of major Islamist terror attacks in the last two years.
