Paul Ryan calls the UNSC anti-Israel motion “absolutely shameful”

US House speaker Paul Ryan issued a statement, calling “absolutely shameful” the UN Security Council’s approval of a resolution Friday mandating an end to Israeli settlement on the West Bank and east Jerusalem.. "Today's vote is a blow to peace that sets a dangerous precedent for further diplomatic efforts to isolate and demonize Israel," Ryan said. "Our unified Republican government will work to reverse the damage done by this administration, and rebuild our alliance with Israel."

US lawmakers from both sides of the aisle had called on President Obama to veto the resolution.
