Pence in Baltic: Russian destabilizing activities unacceptable
US Vice President Mike Pence in Tallinn, Estonia said Sunday: “Our message to the Baltic states, my message when we visit Georgia and Montenegro will be the same. To our allies in Eastern Europe, we are with you, we stand with you on behalf of freedom.” Pence went on to say that the president would very soon sign sanctions against Moscow, because “Russia’s destabilizing activities and support for rogue regimes and its activities in Ukraine are unacceptable.” Earlier this month, Russia posted 2,500 troops to the Latvian and Estonian borders as a part of a military drill in the Pskov region. Sunday, President Vladimir Putin ordered 755 U.S. diplomats to leave the country by Sept. 1 in retaliation for sanctions.
