Pentagon chief of staff third official to quit

Department of Defense chief of staff Kevin Sweeney has resigned, the third senior Pentagon official to quit since President Trump announced that US forces would leave Syria. Last month, James Mattis stepped down as defense secretary, followed by Brett McGurk, the presidential special envoy to the global coalition fighting the Islamic State.
