Pentagon denies reported US drone attack inside Iraq

The Pentagon in Washington denied the BBC in Arabic report Tuesday afternoon that “US planes or drones had bombed ISIS targets at Al Qaim in the Iraqi-Syrian border region.” The broadcast quoted “sources close to Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.” Turkish sources confirmed air strikes, but said they were conducted by Syrian bombers. Witnesses reported that Syrian aircraft had carried out a bombardment in the border area and killed 40 people.
