Perpetrator of 2014 Abu Khdeir murder convicted

A Jerusalem district court on Tuesday convicted Yosef Haim Ben David of the murder of Palestinian teenager Mohammad Abu Khdier in 2014. The court rejected the defendant's claim that he was mentally unstable when he burned Abu Khdier to death, ruling that he was not in a psychotic state and was in control of his actions. Ben David was also convicted of kidnapping with intent to murder, attempted arson and assault. The prosecution said it will seek a life sentence.
