Police arrest 12 in anti-government Jerusalem protest

Anti-government demos took place Saturday night in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and at road junctions across the country. The 10,000 protesters outside the prime minister’s Jerusalem residence clamored for Binyamin Netanyahu to step down as they have all week, while the other rallies focused on the shambling government response to the economic hardship suffered far and wide in the wake of coronavirus lockdowns. They called for “bread and jobs.” Most of the events went off without incident. A couple of hundred anti-Netanyahu protesters refused to go home after midnight and were forcibly dispersed by the police. when the sat down at Paris Square.
