Police cancel delayed Jerusalem Day Flag Parade

The annual Flag Parade for Jerusalem Day, postponed during Hamas’ rocket blitz from Gaza last month, was rescheduled for this Thursday but called off again on Monday shortly after a threat from Hamas. Police chiefs told the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Security committee: “We are absolutely on edge and have therefore decided to stage the Flag Parade at a time and along a route to be determined by the government. The organizers were told that the parade is cancelled.”

Hamas deputy leader; Khalil al-Haya said: “Israel, the mediators and the whole world should be warned that the Gaza war will be re-escalated if the Jerusalem Flag Parade goes through.
